Summary

TRAK Machine Tools is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to participate in the design of new CNC machines. Develop design by applying science and new engineering technologies and ideas. Support manufacturing group with difficult manufacturing problems.

Job Duties

Serve as a technical resource for mechanical projects. Participate in the design of new CNC machines. Develop design by applying science and new engineering technologies and ideas. Evaluate existing products and come up with new creative designs that will make the product more efficient for the user and cost-effective from a manufacturing standpoint. Support manufacturing group with manufacturing problems.  Work closely with the company’s machine tool vendors to solve design and manufacturing problems. Run FEA simulations to optimize the design of components and assemblies under specific requirements and specifications. Analyze mechanical drive systems to calculate electrical component requirements. Prove out 3D printers in a normal engineering environment and log any issues encountered. Investigate and report mechanical design and software changes to improve 3D printer functionality and performance

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (SolidWorks); Mechanical Behavior; Finite Element Analysis (FEA); Mechoptronic (Mechanical, Optical, and Electrical System) Design and Analysis; Fluid Mechanics System Design and Analysis; Thermal Analysis of Dynamic Systems and Components; and Mechanical Analysis of Dynamic Systems and Components.

Travel Requirements

Annually to the UK to assist European distributors; Bi-annually to Taiwan for new product development with vendors.
