We are looking for a senior buyer to help launch new product lines and manage our costs.

We are a privately held company, well-known in the machine tool industry, serving a variety of customers with technology-driven products including vertical machining centers and 3D printers.  We are looking for a senior buyer to help launch new product lines and manage our costs.

Job Requirements

  • Formulates and executes the company’s purchasing arrangements in support of its business strategy and plan. Negotiates pricing, conducts RFP process and ensures timely availability of supply.
  • Recommends major purchases of material based on anticipated changes in prices or on unusual availability situations.
  • Informs all related personnel of discontinued items and gathers data for possible replacements
  • Ensures master data setup is set up correctly and in line with ERP settings.
  • Performs market research to identify vendors/suppliers and determine viability to meet the needs of the business.
  • Maintains a strong professional relationship between suppliers and the company. Evaluates the effectiveness and fitness of suppliers to determine the company’s procurement strategy.
  • Works with assembly, shipping, and engineering on new projects to determine material needs, identify long lead items, qualify new suppliers, plan build schedule, and minimize costs.
  • Plans material requirements against demand and schedules work orders.

Skills:

  • College Degree
  • 7-10 years of experience
  • Significant Infor/Syteline experience
  • MRP experience, including implementation and use
  • Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word and industry standard purchase order software platforms
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with a team
