Call your CAM retailer, distributor, or manufacturer.  The PT uses a common type of postprocessor based on Fanuc 6.   Our control works with defined inputs that are handled by the postprocessor.  The CAM side is the more complex side, therefore, the CAM producer is the only company qualified to handle their output.

  • 3-axis mills = 2000 events. 
  • 2-axis mills and lathes = 500; repeats count as one each time. 
  • There is no limit on the number of G code events.

The largest radius is 825 inches.  Values above this number will cause an error when trying to run the program.

IPM = IPR X RPM X number of flutes or inserts.

If you have an original ProtoTRAK, you may upgrade it for a ProtoTRAK Plus.  Click here for a flyer that describes the differences.    Otherwise there is not a control upgrade available for the ProtoTRAK or ProtoTRAK Plus that will use the existing ballscrews and drives.  We changed the design on the hardware many years ago and our new systems are not compatible with the old hardware.  If your machine is still in good shape, you may want to consider buying a new retrofit ProtoTRAK EMX CNC.  This will be a complete system.

If we made the control, we do have some of the parts for the CNC that we made, but we don’t have the parts that were made by Bridgeport.  If we didn’t make the control, we don’t have any of the parts.
